Hello Old World!

It's mad to think we started this Blog, and more importantly this mag, way back in 2010, and here we are
still alive in 2026!
Boy I wish we still had had the energy and unbridled hope that lit the fuse of this little poetry firecracker, but older and wiser have their merits too and the magazine itself is certainly still bursting with life and looking incredibly professional despite us still be rank amateurs, not to mention rank outsiders. Some things never change, right?

Looking at issue two (PB2) from 2011 we remember well  two poems that we believe (if I remember rightly!) were Sara Maria Griffin's first ever  published work, 'Electric Picnic Parts One and Two, and the wonderfully titled, 'Francis Bacon's Portrait of Isabel Rawsthorne 1967 or Please Get That Girl Out of My House'.

Two great poems, you could see already that Sarah had talent and potential. And now fifteen years later Sarah is not only Arts Council Writer Fellow at Trinity College Dublin but has secured a six figure pre-empt for her 'wildly original' novel , Everything Not Saved. Wow! Big congrats to her, a fantastic achievement, a cosmic leap!

It feels good to have published Sarah's very first work all that long time ago and it highlights the importance of grass roots publishing, the need for little indie presses like ours that give people that first chance, that first little boost to help them on their way. Support us if you can!

Have you got our latest issue, PB12? No? Goodness gracious, are you quite mad?!
Get thee quickly over to our webshop and treat yourself whilst supporting indie poetry, you won't regret it, it's full of wordy wit and goodness and is guaranteed to lift your soul.
